we stay at this hotel for 1 night at first look on the internet it was looking good but let me tell you I was wrong
at the checking the woman look bored but did manage to give our key for the room but no other information was given
+ there is a pool and hot tub
+room not too small
+elevator accessible
here the negative point
- not the cleanest hotel I have seen lobby and hallway
- the room was not very clean
-staff not willing to help much
-bed is way to hard not comfy at all
-when we arrive and open the door of the room we could smell a strong smell of cigarette and pot... we then go down at the reception, just to make sure this hotel was non-smoker and they said yes, we advice them there is a strong smell of cigarette in the room and it was disgusting and they only said THERE IS NOTHING WE CAN DO ABOUT IT
later that evening it was still the same problem and my daughter started coughing because the smell was coming from the next room (we could see the fume under the door between the two room)
I went down to the reception again and the lady said that she could not change our room because the hotel was full at this moment because of the Spanish fire fighter but she will go knock of the door to advice them about the situation
nothing change for the rest of the night, I will recommend you to stay away from this place if you can
Stayed here for 5 nights to visit beautiful Lac St-Jean. The hotel is clean and the staff are very warm and friendly, exactly the type of people you would expect from this region. Our room was great except our shower/bath had a faulty knob …
The hotel is good. I feel bad for the guys working in the restaurant. They are working so hard, only two, but it is busy and I don't know when we will get our food. Last week sledded around Quebec and no problems but here so understaffed. Better to avoid the restaurant and give these guys a break. Eat somewhere else and help them out. So after 1+15 we had the soup. Still waiting for dinner at 1+45. Definitely eat somewhere else. Went back to the kitchen and there were two people, a cook and a dishwasher. Now I understand why the service is slow. Food not bad but more than two hours to get dinner is too long for me.
I stayed twice at this hotel within a week. In general, the hotel is ok. The staff was friendly but the place needs to get out of the 1990s. The elevator is ridiculously slow and soudproofing is not the best. The first room I had was not …
Stayed here in February 2023, no complaints. Room was clean, restaurant food was good. The staff spoke English. Access to snowmobile trails. Would stay here again.
The rooms we had was nicely spacious, clean and clear. We loved the beds, also big and with good matrasses. The minus point is there is only one light for the double bed so a practical problem when one partner wants to read and the other …
The hotel is currently undergoing some renovations in the hallways. It will be nice when completed, but now it's broken walls and a bit of a mess.
Rooms are really dated, not worthy of the "chateau"name ..furniture and bathrooms, shower has mould in between tiles, fossets are super old, thermostats too. Not sure if it in the renovation plan...but they should be.
Pool is lovely. Resto we have not tried. Service was impeccable. Location is great, close to everything.
For $200 a night plus tax I expected better than a room with a tiny shower with black mold on the shower and shower door (shower door also doesn't close properly), stains on the ceiling, wavy and torn carpet, a broken thermostat, issues with the entrance door lock, very old and dated fixtures, grungy jacuzzi, no view to the outside to let in natural light, poor dimm lights. Very disappointing experience when you pay extra for a room thinking your getting something nice.
